Appointment in Verona for the organic world
B/Open, the b2b show for specialized traders, will be back on 9 th and 10 th November
Verona, 23 rd September 2021. To mark the launch of the European Union’s “first organic day” (23 rd September) where the EESC stresses the importance of more sustainable, fair and inclusive food systems, VeronaFiere confirms B/Open, the b2b event exclusively for certified organic food, scheduled to take place on 9 th and 10 th November. The second edition, in physical form, although a digital version is also foreseen, will be held in the Gallerie Mercatali, one of Verona’s prestigious venues.
The last 18 months have caused several already on-going developments, such as e commerce and an increase in “organic” product sales in the large-scale retail trade, to speed up and the sector’s growth has been confirmed with consumption still on track and production increasing albeit at a slower pace than in the past. Thanks to the formula aimed at professional traders, stakeholders, institutions and partnerships with AIAB, Assocertbio, Bioagricert, Bios, CCPB, ICEA, Suolo e Salute and Valoritalia, B/Open is receiving positive responses from companies, with the confirmed participation – among others – of Agricola Grains, Lattebusche, Sonnentor Kraeuterhandels, Naturalebio, Antico Molino Rosso, Redoro Frantoi Veneti, Terre e Tradizioni, La Selva Società Bioagricola, Biosüdtirol as well as the Veneto Region and Demeter Associazione Italia, both with a collective of companies. The smart exhibition formula, which offers the chance to take advantage of the certifications required as a condition of participation, has met with particular appreciation.
Foreign buyers and incoming. Thanks to the appeal of organic products and consumer’s growing attention at an international level, B/Open will include foreign delegations and buyers, selected in collaboration with VeronaFiere’s network of delegates, bearing in mind the growth potential of the various markets. Traders originating from Germany, Denmark, France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, the Balkans, Turkey, the Arab Emirates, Russia and Israel will be in attendance.
Conferences, workshops and in-depth debates. B/Open will provide the chance to combine business opportunities with conferences, workshops and debates on organic and sustainability issues. Numerous topics will be dealt with during the two days of the event, including business opportunities on foreign markets for the organic product sector in terms of regulations and contracts; national and European organic policy; environmental and social sustainability of the entire organic supply chain; new materials for eco-sustainable packaging; the Made in Italy organic supply chain; organic numbers in Italy; the world of biodynamic agriculture and the cereal supply chain.
The second edition of the Eco Packaging Awards. In collaboration with Bio&Consumi (Tespi MediaGroup), the appointment with the Eco Packaging Awards will be back to award companies that have managed to combine organic production with sustainability in terms of packaging, materials and design, creating an all-round green and eco-sustainable action.
The “Taste&Bio” area. B/Open also offers the chance to taste the companies’ products in the “Taste&Bio” area specifically fitted out for the purpose in collaboration with Ciberie, an innovative project devised by Piccola distribuzione evoluta (Pde – Small Evolved Distribution), where buyers attending the event can “meet” the organic products.
